Kent Bikes Reviews (Hybrid bikes)
1. Kent Springdale Men’s Hybrid Bicycle
Let’s start our Kent bike reviews with the perfect Kent Hybrid bicycle made for people who need a reliable form of transportation or just want to get some exercise but don’t want to spend a massive amount of money on a bike. It’s one of the more affordable hybrid bikes out there right now, and although it might not be anything super advanced, it definitely gets the job done.
One of the best things about the Kent Springdale Men’s Hybrid Bicycle is that it comes with a total of 21 gears, so there are 3 in the front and 7 in the rear. We think that this is a good amount of gears to have for a city bike, because the lower gears are great for going uphill and for being in busy traffic stop-and-go situations, while the higher gears are best for cruising along at top speeds.
Something else which stands out about the Kent Springdale Men’s Hybrid Bicycle is that it comes with a very lightweight aluminum frame. This means that you can easily accelerate, as you don’t have much weight to push around, and carrying it up or down stairs is not too much of an issue either. Moreover, although the frame is fairly lightweight, it’s still more than durable enough to withstand the punishment dished out by city biking.
The Kent Springdale Men’s Hybrid Bicycle features simple linear brakes which are not the best out there admittedly, but they get the job done decently. No, they aren’t disc brakes, but they do work well enough and should keep you safe. The 700c tires are wide enough to provide decent stability and traction, yet narrow enough to provide speed as well.
- Very affordable
- Versatile gear system
- Good street tires
- Lightweight and durable
- Perfect for the city
- Brakes could be better
2. Kent Men’s Ridgeland Single-speed Hybrid Bike
The KENT Men’s Ridgeland Hybrid Bicycle is another hybrid bike which is perfect for basic city biking. It’s another affordable option, one that will allow you to get from point A to B and work up a bit of a sweat too, all without having to spend a ridiculous amount of cash.
It’s another one of those bikes that is more than good enough for basic cycling. It’s nothing super special or high tech, but also not overly expensive either in this Kent Hybrid Bike Review.
For people that like simplicity and the joy of riding these kinds of bikes, at the first sight at this bike you will notice that the KENT Men’s Ridgeland Hybrid Bicycle comes with 1 speed.
What we really like about the KENT Men’s Ridgeland Hybrid Bicycle are those cheerful colors. Also, this bike is easy to maintain and you got 700c aluminum rims which are very durable, lightweight, and more than good enough for city biking.
As any good hybrid bike should have, this thing comes with tires that are ideal for city biking in the sense that they are wide enough for traction and stability but also narrow enough for good speed and acceleration. (In case you don’t like these tires, don’t worry, you can always go through our guide on the best hybrid bike tires to choose regular black tires.)
Even though the frame is made of steel, acceleration and ride in general is just fine as well. Plus, you get durable frame that will last for years, and because is so simple, it is actually lighter than most bikes with shifters, suspension, and other addition. So, for most riders, it’s not the end of the world.
- Very lightweight
- Good city street tires
- Fun looking colors
- Very affordable
- Good braking system
- No gears
3. Kent Springdale Women’s Hybrid Bicycle
This is the first women’s bike on our Kent bike reviews list today and yes, it has that classic bike frame style that is common in women’s bikes. Apart from that, the Kent Springdale Women’s Hybrid Bicycle is actually very similar to the men’s version which we reviewed above.
The Kent Springdale Women’s Hybrid Bicycle features a very lightweight aluminum frame, lighter than most others, making it easy for ladies to push it forward, lift it up if necessary and accelerate to top speed without too much effort.
On a side note, we also want to say that this is one of the more affordable women’s hybrid bicycles out there right now, which is of course another bonus.
Something else that is notable about the Kent Springdale Women’s Hybrid Bicycle is that it comes with a 21-speed gear system complete with great derailleurs and shifters that are very reliable and durable. Whether your location or situation requires a high or low gear, this bike can provide it to you without issue.
The Kent Springdale Women’s Hybrid Bicycle comes with normal linear brakes, which should be more than adequate in terms of stopping power and basic biking needs but of course, they aren’t high-tech disc brakes.
We like how this bike comes with 700c alloy rims and tires which are perfectly sized for city biking. They’re wide enough for traction and stability but also narrow enough for speed, acceleration and maneuverability.
- Affordable
- Lightweight
- Good gear system
- Durable
- Good city tires
- Brakes could be better
4. Kent Northwoods Pomona Men’s Dual Suspension Comfort Bike
The Kent Northwoods Pomona Men’s Dual Suspension Comfort Bike is actually the least expensive option here on our list today, and it definitely makes for a great budget-friendly bike.
Now, something we do want to say here is that this thing is not the most durable bike around, not by far. Sure, all of the components used in the design are durable enough for basic biking, but it’s not the kind of bicycle that you want to put through a lot of punishment.
As you might be able to tell by the name of it, this bike is made for comfort and cruising, but not for any kind if high-speed or downhill biking.
That being said, we do like how the Kent Northwoods Pomona bike comes with a really comfortable seat that you can sit on for hours on end without fear of it breaking.
Moreover, this bike also comes with a great dual-suspension system to absorb about as much shock as humanly possible, something else that will stop your backside from becoming painful while you cruise around the city.
The ergonomically designed handlebars are also made for comfort, as are the ideally placed gear shifters. The Kent Northwoods Pomona bike is all about comfort and ergonomics.
The Kent Pomona bicycle has a fairly lightweight aluminum frame, very lightweight actually, although durability here is questionable. The gear system and brakes are also pretty decent, more than good enough for getting from point A to B. Once again though, the level of durability is not spectacular for our Kent Hybrid Bike Review.
- Very comfortable
- Ergonomically designed
- Super affordable
- Great for basic city biking
- Very lightweight
- Not the most durable
- Brakes could be better
5. KENT Front Runner Hybrid Bike
This is another affordable option to go with in our Kent Bike Reviews. It’s quite basic, but it does make for a perfectly fine city road bike.
The KENT Front Runner Hybrid Bike comes with a 7-speed gear system, which is alright. We wouldn’t say that it is the best for really fast biking and cruising around. In other words, it’s fine for casual biking from point A to B, but it just isn’t built for speed, not in the least.
That being said, the KENT Front Runner Hybrid Bike does have a very lightweight aluminum frame, so you aren’t pushing around a brick, and even though it is lightweight, it actually manages to be quite durable too.
What does need to be noted here is that this thing does not come with suspension, which isn’t great, but then again, it’s also not built for speed or big bumps, so it shouldn’t make a huge difference.
All in all, we do like the KENT Front Runner Hybrid Bike because it is lightweight and won’t break your budget, plus it’s durable enough for basic biking and it comes with fine street tires too. However, it doesn’t have suspension and it isn’t really built for speed either.
- Affordable
- Lightweight
- Good for basic needs
- Fairly durable
- No suspension
- Not built for speed
